The Snake and the Rose is the logo for my skin care products. The single snake around the wooden staff is the traditional medical symbol, the caduceus. The true caduceus has only a single snake and no wings. In the United States, the double snake and wings is used as a caduceus, but this is actually the symbol of the Greek God Hermes.
Asclepius is believed to have been a skilled physician in Greece around 1200 BC. In ancient Greece it was believed that snakes lived forever and had the power to rejuvenate, and that they helped discover health-giving medicinal herbs. According to legend, a snake brought such herbs to Asclepius. The serpent wound around the wooden staff became the symbol of Asclepius. The wooden staff also symbolized his wanderings from place to place as he cured the sick.
From ancient times the Rose has been a symbol of beauty, perfection, purity, and allure. The ancient Greeks and Romans identified the Rose with Aphrodite and Venus, the goddesses of love. Red Roses have an allure that is hard to resist!
These skin care products unite scientific research, medicine and rejuvenation (symbolized by the caduceus) with skin health and beauty (the Red Rose). In the tradition of ancient medicine, many of my products contain herbal products or substances derived from plants. My goal is that you benefit greatly from this marriage of skin health to medicine.
