Healthy Living
You can take all the vitamins and supplements available appropriate for you and still not ‘be healthy’ What does this mean? Regular physician visits as determined by your physician, taking your prescription medications, vitamins and supplements, of course. What else is there?
A healthy diet is paramount to being of sound body and sound mind. Lower carbohydrates than the typical American diet, healthy proteins, lots of vegetables, appropriate fruits, and of course, keeping an eye on the fats.
Exercise is something many of us have a very difficult time scheduling. As someone who is very busy, I am always trying to come up with tricks to try and get fitter. One thing I recommend to many patients is to get a pedometer. The goal we hear stated everywhere is 10,000 steps. Yes, this is absolutely fabulous. But if right now you are doing maybe 700 steps a day, discovering you can increase it to say, 3,000 will increase your activity level well beyond what you were doing. On the other hand, someone doing about 8,000 steps a day would definitely benefit from a boost to 10-11,000.
So, get your pedometer and get moving!
